Disney Songs When I started these pages, I was unsure whether I should include Disney songs. There are so many internet pages dedicated to Disney songs and Disney much that to add much more merely duplicates that which is better covered elsewhere. A search on "disney songs" yields 3,500 pages at the Gooble search engine whilst "disney" yields over 3 million pages. However, the Disney music, is part of our children's music culture in the UK, and to exclude it would leave just part of a story told. For my own collection, I searched for a set of CDs that would cover a wide scope of the early Disney music, and I found Music of Disney Legacy in Song [BOX SET] covering nearly 80 Disney songs. At the time of writing I have ordered my copy from Amazon USA. It's not available at the British site. I am disappointed not to have found, "We are Siamese" on the CD. Amazon Editorial Review Amazon.com This is the most comprehensive of Disney collections, though the Classic Disney series is more up to date. Spread across three discs, the set features hits and forgotten favorites from movies, TV, and the parks (although more thorough work remains to be done in the last regard). Since the Disney catalog is in a state of constant change, this is the only place to get some songs that aren't currently available; these days it's a rare treat to hear "Cruella De Vil" from 101 Dalmations, "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," from Song of the South, and Annette's theme from The Monkey's Uncle. A thick CD booklet is included, putting the songs in the context of Walt Disney's long, astounding career. --John Sanchez Music of Disney Legacy in Song [BOX SET] |
