I got this fully working program licence free on the front cover from Practical Internet Magazine. Open a JPEG image file and then move the slider to the left to make the image smaller. You can judge by eye when things look about right, and the compression is real-time. Below, I have compressed the image from 42,899 kB to 16,146 kB.

Problems:

• none; the program does exactly what it's intended to do.

Plus points:

• you can actually see the compression working realtime; and
• it is possible to compress selectively portions of the image.

• the support staff send out warnings if the site is taken down for maintenance;

• new features are introduced every month;

• visitors like it and have no problems in using it; and

• e-mails can be sent when visitors make a posting.

Rating: 9/10 (would be 10/10, but Boardhost keep making it better!)
