Marsh & Baxter - The World's Best Sausage Advertisement reads: "Drawing His Own Conclusion"
This Farmer Was Alerted by Maxtec ASA Complaint: Objection to an advertisement, in Countryside magazine, for a perimeter security system. The advertisement showed a drawing of a farmer who was holding a shotgun. The farmer was smiling and giving the thumbs-up with his left hand: the shotgun was smoking and the cartridges were in mid-ejection. The advertisement claimed "THIS FARMER WAS ALERTED BY MAXTEC ELECTRONIX ... For long range silent radio based perimeter protection ... DETER BEFORE BREAK-IN ". The complainant objected that the advertisement was irresponsible because it condoned the use of a shotgun to protect property from intruders.
Mission Fulfilled: Church of Scotland missionaries, Nyasaland (Malawi) c. 1910. and c. 1930. Christian missions supported by churches in Britian produced converts.
